3-Day Inner Okavango Delta Safari

ITINERARY

DAY 1: JOURNEY THROUGH THE CHANNELS OF THE OKAVANGO DELTA (-/L/D)
Begin your adventure early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel, lodge, or the airport in Maun. The tour starts at around 07:30 with a 1-hour speedboat ride to the Buffalo Fence (or by 4×4 vehicle, depending on the season). At the Buffalo Fence, meet your local poler, who will take you on an unforgettable journey through the tranquil channels of the Okavango Delta in a traditional mokoro (one-tree canoe). These polers, born and raised in the delta, are passionate and knowledgeable about the region. Upon arrival at your island camp, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch. Later in the afternoon, set out on a guided nature walk to observe the local wildlife and learn about the delta’s ecosystems. End the day with a hearty dinner at camp, followed by storytelling around the campfire.

DAY 2: EXPLORING THE ISLANDS OF THE OKAVANGO DELTA (B/L/D)
Spend the entire day immersed in the delta’s wilderness. Begin with a warm “Dumela” (Setswana for “Hello”) and a light breakfast. Afterward, embark on a game viewing activity, either a mokoro excursion or a nature walk, led by an experienced guide. Return to camp for a refreshing shower and brunch. In the afternoon, enjoy another guided exploration, delving deeper into the delta’s islands by mokoro or on foot. Meals are cooked over an open bushfire by your bush chef, and the evening is spent around the campfire, sharing stories of the day’s adventures before retreating to your comfortable tent, surrounded by the sounds of the bush.

DAY 3: FINAL DAY IN THE OKAVANGO DELTA (B/L/-)
On your last morning in the delta, enjoy one final mokoro excursion and bushwalk. Take in the serene beauty of the delta before heading back to Maun. A riverside lunch break will offer a final taste of the wilderness, and you will arrive back in Maun before sunset, concluding your unforgettable Okavango Delta adventure.
